Golden Trout are California’s most prized native heritage fish and have a deep history within the world of fly fishing and the hearts of many anglers. Although generally smaller in size these incredible species are a true trophy trout and a bucket list for most life long fly fishing enthusiast. I started this company with the passion of being able to share my passion for Golden Trout, their beautiful native environment, and to experience them with other devoted anglers.

Fishing for Goldens is a unique and exciting experience as they typically live in higher elevation streams, lakes and creeks. Most of the Golden Trout Season involves stalking these fish in pristine small alpine streams, casting light weight set ups with light weight fly rods. Watching a golden rise to a small caddis dry fly might be my favorite thing to witness, it is simply beautiful.

Our Golden Trout day trips typically start in the morning (8am) and fish until the afternoon (4pm) allowing us plenty of time to cover water, get into some fish and enjoy the beautiful scenery. As an outfitter we provide everything for the day including all the gear we will need, lunch and snacks. All you need on your end is your CA fishing license and the spirit of adventure.

Our Golden Trout Season is short and I book up at times a year in advance so make sure to reach out sooner then later to see if there is any availability for the potential dates you are seeking. Let’s make the dream come true and get into some California Gold.
